Qld Open - Regional Qualifiers

Amateurs from Queensland and interstate will have the unique opportunity to qualify for Queensland’s state open through three Regional Qualifying Tournaments.

The gross winner of the City of Rockhampton Open, North Queensland Men’s Open, and Far North Queensland Open will be given exemptions into the main field of this year’s Isuzu Queensland Open, to be played at The Brisbane Golf Club from 1 – 4 November.

A record number of participants flocked to the qualifiers last year, with over 400 players vying for three spots.

Isuzu Queensland Open Tournament Director Luke Bates recognises the significant impact these events have on the district championships, with players travelling from far and wide to contest.

“The regional qualifiers have provided significant growth opportunities over the past couple of years for District and Club Open Championships,” said Mr Bates.

Due to these events being an official Isuzu Queensland Open qualifier, there has been an increase in player numbers and this one of the reasons why we added a third regional qualifier last year in Far North Queensland.

“Huge thanks must go to Rockhampton Golf Club in Golf Central Queensland, Golf North Queensland, and Far North Queensland Districts for their support in organising these events.”

Each of the regional qualifiers are open events and offer a great opportunity for golfers from all over Australia to take a trip with mates and attempt to qualify for the Isuzu Queensland Open. In addition to great courses and friendly hospitality, each event offers great value for money with the entry fee being under $65 for 36 holes.

Entrants can find out further information via the Isuzu Queensland Open website. Players are encouraged to enter promptly as it is anticipated that field sizes will reach capacity prior to the closing date.
